In a land mark initiative, the Ministry of Railways has decided to undertake pre-budget consultations with trade and industry. The Minister of Railways, Mamata Banerjee will interact with the representatives of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, major industry associations, both national and state level and important rail customers, here tomorrow. Chairman, Railway Board, S.S.Khurana and all the Board Members will be present on the occasion.

This pre-budget interaction is aimed at obtaining innovative ideas for placing the Indian Railways on a sustained and rapid growth path. The interaction session will provide a forum for welcoming suggestions and inviting proposals for investment through Public Private Partnership (PPP) in various ongoing and future projects on Railways.

The participating agencies among others include FICCI, ASSOCHAM, CII, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry etc.
